Jon is a survivor of the 2017 Mandalay Bay/Route91 mass shooting in Las Vegas. That night Jon also rescued others from the gun fire. After some years away Jon returned to music for healing purposes and wants to share his musical healing journey with the world.
Starting at age 12 Jon was taught Piano and Composing by Lillian Bauer Cox from the Juilliard School. Lillian was a student of husband and wife duo Josef and Rosina Lhevinne, masters of Russian romantic piano at The Juilliard School. Josef Studied at the Moscow Conservatory, he graduated at the top of a class that included both Sergei Rachmaninoff and Alexander Scriabin, in 1892 he won the Gold Medal for Piano. Rosina having also won the Gold Medal was her husband Josef’s Student. Rosina Lhevinne was the teacher of many notable students including Van Cliburn and John Williams.
